My Winter Makeup Favourites

Tuesday, 3 January 2017

I wanted my first post of 2017 to be an inspirational cute post about my plans for the year but it's currently still a work in progress. So you'll just have to wait a bit longer for that one. For today's post I'm talking you through all my current favourites, the items that are in my makeup bag and my favourites for the cooler months.

I'm about a third of my way through this product and I can safely say it's my favourite primer I've ever tried. I'm still not 100% convinced if I like these silicone based primers or not, the texture kind of freaks me out a little. But it definitely smoothes out my pores and my makeup does stay matte for a bit longer.

I actually only picked this up in a rush because I was running late and just needed a foundation quickly, but it's honestly so great! I'll 100% be repurchasing this. Before using this Loreal foundation I was using the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, which I did really like. However you can't apply that with a brush or sponge which really bugged me. So this Loreal foundation has a similar finish, maybe slightly more coverage and it's 1/3 of the price (and you can apply this with a brush perfectly..)

I've used this concealer many times before, and it's the only high street one I go back to. For the price it's great, it's buildable, creamy and has a good staying power. With all the chocolate I've been eating over the festive period it's safe to stay my skin has broken out, so concealer has been a necessity in my makeup bag.

This was recommended to me by a friend and it's a really great powder. I think I could probably do with the translucent colour because this doesn't quite match me. This is only £5 and it comes with a mirror and sponge which is so handy for on the go, the packaging is very substantial too, which mean it won't shatter like other powders I've used in the past.

As you can see by the photos, I've hit pan on this which just shows how much I use this. It's such a bargain buy and the contour and highlighter colours are great. Really buildable and perfect for an everyday look.

I use this every single day without fail, and especially recently I've been wearing less eyeshadow. So this makes the perfect base for my winged eyeliner.

I've been using this for years, so it's had countless mentions on here. But it's always in my makeup bag and it's one of my holy grail products.

For an everyday mascara this is perfect! Separates and evenly coats the lashes. Also it's buildable which is really great. I've repurchased this so many times I'd definitely recommend this if you haven't already tried it.

This is the best liquid eyeliner I've ever used. It's so affordable and it's not a brush tip so you can get a really precise line. They also do a waterproof version too if thats more your cup of tea..

I'd wanted to try one of these for ages! I picked this up thinking it's my kinda shade of nude, turns out it's identical to Mac's velvet teddy. Which I guess is why I liked it so much haha, because that's my everyday go to. But that being said, if you're looking for a velvet teddy dupe, this is it! It's a great formula, not too drying and it lasts all day too.

If I'm not in the mood for a nude lip this has been my go to over the past month. My bestie Katie gave me this as an early birthday present and I love it! It's completely gorgeous! The formula is amazing it's not as matte as the mac lipsticks which is quite nice. And pair it with this red lipliner really brings out the red tones in the lipstick.

All the items are linked so you can shop the post just by clicking on the name of the item. What are your winter makeup favourites? Or if you've used any of these products then I'd love to know!
