Travel Bucket List- Europe

Thursday, 11 August 2016

I would love to incorporate travel into my blog a lot more than I have, but I think that unless your jetting off here there and everywhere month after month its quite hard to do. So I've put together a Travel Bucket List, all the places I'd absolutely love to visit. This is the Europe Edition, come back tomorrow for the Asia Travel Bucket List.

I don't want to go into too much detail about all the places listed below so I've just explained why I'm dying to go there.

"The Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. It’s a popular holiday destination, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages"

The Amalfi Coast looks absolutely stunning, I've been to Rome but never to the coast in Italy. This is definitely an area I'd love to spend a week or two.

"Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is defined by quirky art and architecture, imaginative food and vibrant street life. It has medieval roots, seen in the mazelike Gothic Quarter, but a modernist personality represented by architect Antoni Gaudí’s fantastical Sagrada Família church."

As I've mentioned previously I'm a huge sucker for Art, and I'm fascinated by architecture, and Barcelona is filled to the brim with it. It's definitely near the top of my list. The perfect place to go for a lovely few days away.

"Greece is a country in southeastern Europe consisting of 2 mainland peninsulas and thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos."

I've never been to Greece, and It's somewhere I'm completely dying to visit. There are so many gorgeous Island that I'm eyeing up: Skiathos, Santorini and Kos. All the photos look so completely gorgeous and it looks like such a tranquil place to be.

"Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, is bisected by the Vltava River. Nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires,” it's known for its Old Town Square, the heart of its historic core, with colorful baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval Astronomical Clock, with a popular show."

Prague is another city that has so much wonderful culture, and architecture to see and explore. The city looks so Picturesque and I've never been to the Czech Republic before.

"Venice, capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a marshy lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Its stone palaces seemingly rise out of the water. There are no cars or roadways, just canals and boats. The Grand Canal snakes through the city, which is filled with innumerable narrow, mazelike alleys and small squares."

If I could visit any of these places tomorrow, it would probably be Venice, I'm so completely desperate to visit here. I first fell in love with Venice after seeing Canaletto's 'Regatta on the Grand Canal' Painting at the National Gallery. The city looks so beautiful with the canals and so bursting with life. It's definitely the top of my list.

"Vienna, the capital of Austria, lies in the country’s east on the Danube River. Its artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence."

And Finally Vienna, I've never been to Austria before, and if I was to go I'd definitely head to Vienna first. This city is completely gorgeous, and so regal. I would love to spend a few days roaming around here. Wandering in the Art Galleries and I'd definitely explore St Stephens Cathedral.

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you've visited any of the places I mentioned then I'd love to know your experience there, so please let me know in the comments! Or tweet me @EmjaneMac

All of the images I used for this post, are pinned to my travel board, so take a look if you fancy. And don't forget to pop back tomorrow for the Asia Edition!
