10 Things I'd Like To Do Before I'm 30

Saturday, 20 August 2016

First of all I'd like to apologise with how late todays post is going up, I moved house yesterday and with having to pack and unpack the last few days and being at work today I just ran out of time to schedule todays post, but it's here! I'm determined not to miss a day this month, even if it goes up at 9 o'clock!

Here are 10 things that i'd like to do before I'm thirty, some are little things, and others might seem a little generic but I thought this would be a nice post to look back on.

1. Go Travelling
Whether I manage to get some money together to go to Asia for 6 months or if I head off on a couple of holidays a year, maybe one to a more tropical destination and the other a city break. I just want to keep travelling, and travel more. The world is so big, and there's so many more places I'd love to visit.

2. Have a job that I love
I'm working my butt of at the moment, interning 4 days a week, working part time at the weekends and blogging. I really want all this hard work to pay off and for me to get a killer job at the end of it all. By the time I'm 30 I want to be working at a company I love, in a position that shows how hard I've worked.

3. Get Married
I'd love to have a ring on my finger, be settled with my man and have had a beautiful wedding day. Possibly with a kid on the way, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.

4. Learn how to make an amazing roast dinner
Roast Dinners are hard to make, I've tried several times. I wouldn't necessarily failed but I didn't quite succeed either. They've always been average at best. By the time I'm thirty I want to be able to make mash potatoes like my Nana, yorkshire puddings like my step dad, cook the chicken like my mum does, gravy like my dad and the roast potatoes like my grandad does. I want to be master them all and cook the most amazing roast dinner.

5. Learn how to budget
I'm getting a lot better, especially now I'm on placement year and I'm getting next to nothing for my student loan so I have to budget. But I really need to get the hang of putting so much away each month and getting together some savings.

6. Start exercising and live a healthier lifestyle
I'm hoping that by the time I'm 30 I might have got the hang of this a bit better. At the moment I go through phases, when I eat healthy for a few weeks then I binge on chocolate and biscuits and thats it, it takes me a few weeks to get back into eating healthier again. I'm hoping by the time I'm 30 I'll have the hang of this.

7. Buy a House
I'd love to own a house by the time I'm 30. The fact that my bestie will be buying a house in the next year terrifies me. How can she have the money for a house when I barely have the money for milk every week?

8. Learn to Drive and buy a car
Not being able to drive is a pain in the ass. It meant I was limited when I was applying for placements, and I assume it will be the same when I'm applying for jobs. So I'm hoping I'll have passed my test and have bought a fancy car by the time I'm 30.

9. Work with elephants
I'd love to do this if me and Josh decide to go travelling after uni. But if not I'm determined to go one summer, even if it's just for a couple of weeks, to volunteer at an elephant sanctuary in Asia.

10. Be Happy
It may seem obvious but by the time I'm 30 I hope I'm completely and utterly happy. I don't mean to imply that I'm not happy right now, but by the time I'm 30 I hope I'm more confident in myself, less self conscious and feel a bit better about life in general. At the moment I feel like everything is a little all over the place.

What would you like to do by the time you're 30?

With Love; Em x
