Wardrobe Essentials

Saturday, 11 June 2016

I've seen this post done quite a few times, and I always enjoy reading them. So I thought I'd give it a go, here's my spin on which items I think you need in your wardrobe..

I'll just go over a few bits that are key, these bits will be your basics that you'll be able to use almost all year. Then I'll go into a bit more detail on a few other items.

Without a doubt you need a good fitting pair of jeans, which ever style you fancy; and good quality leather jacket, it doesn't have to be hundreds of pounds but even a £50/£60 one from Topshop will see you through a good few years. A comfortable pair of boots and heels. A flattering white V neck T-shirt, I'm still on the hunt for mine, why are all the highstreet ones so see-through?! And a good tailored coat, I suggest Zara for an affordable coat, they're always on point.

They have become such a staple since I acquired a couple of pairs. They are so comfortable and they look so chic. What I love most about them however is, that they give your outfit a different silhouette. I'd definitely recommend picking a pair up, mine are some lovely tailored ones from Next.

LightWeight Jacket
I picked one up last summer in Zara and it was one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. In summer there's no need to wear a coat but sometimes your outfit just needs another layer, this is where the the jacket comes in, have a look at how I've styled my jacket here.

Seasonal Shoes
What I mean by this is, if it's summer get your hands on a lovely pair of sandals or espadrilles being as they're on trend this season. And if it's winter then a nice pair of heeled boots. This way you'll have a nice pair of shoes, perfect for the season!

Black Blazer
Whether it's a classic tailored blazer or a more relaxed boyfriend fit it's definitely an item you need in your wardrobe. It smartens up every outfit and you never know when it will come in handy.

A Fancy Dress
I recently bought this beauty from Topshop for my boyfriends mum's wedding in September, and I'm so glad I did, I now have a beautiful dress in my wardrobe that I can wear again and again. I'm also hoping to wear this for my 21st as well. For me it's key that this dress isn't black, because I'm sure you all have a lovely black dress that makes you feel confident and amazing. I think it's important that you find a dress in a different colour that makes you feel just as amazing.

I hope that this has helped you a little bit, if your looking to add a few items to you wardrobe.

Let me know what your wardrobe essentials are?

With Love; Em
