Catch Up: Dublin, Turkey and New Work Opportunities

Monday, 20 July 2015

Well hello there, it's been a while. Thats my fault, please forgive me. So here's what I've been up to:

It was Josh's Birthday on the 14th, so for his birthday present I booked us a couple of days away in Dublin which was lovely. We wandered around and got to know the city in what little time we had there. Our hotel was really lovely, old fashioned and maybe a little dated but It was actually quite nice to stay in a more traditional room rather than some of the more clinical looking new hotel rooms. We definitely ate well whilst we were in Dublin, we stumbled across some lovely places including a Burger Bar and a lovely little Italian. We had a look at some of the more touristy sights such as the River Liffey, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar and we also went to the History Museum and the Art Gallery. If you know me, you'll know I'm a bit of an art geek, so I throughly enjoyed the art gallery. There was a lovely Caravaggio painting there (He's my favourite artist) as well as some more contemporary pieces. Also the cafe/restaurant at the Art Gallery was really good, so I would definitely recommend going there if you're in the area. Temple bar was also really lovely, the area in general was great the atmosphere was just what I was expecting if not better, and we went to the actual Temple Bar Pub which was wonderful.

A couple of days after we got back from Dublin we headed off to Turkey for 10 days for some well needed relaxing. Our hotel was lovely, and it wasn't very full so some days we pretty much had the pool to ourselves! We went on a couple of excursions; A sunset boat trip which was just lovely, the food was amazing and watching the sunset over the horizon was just idilic. We also went island hopping for a day which was great. Josh was in and out the sea all day snorkelling and I had a great book to read.. knowing that theres fish swimming near my feet just gives me the creeps so although I ventured into the sea for 5 minutes at one of the islands my feet stayed firmly planted on the boat for the majority of that trip! Our Rep convinced us into getting a Turkish Bath and then once at the place we got persuaded into the full package.. Which included a facial and face mask followed by a traditional Turkish Bath, then a lovely 1 hour full body massage. It was incredibly relaxing and my skin has been SO soft since, if you go to Turkey you need to have one. We ventured out to the market one morning but other than that we just spent our days round the pool soaking up the rays and just relaxing. Which meant I had plenty of time for reading, I read 4 books in 10 days, last year in Cuba I fell head over heels in love with the author Santa Monifore so I would definitely recommend looking at some of her books if you're looking for a new author- I'm thinking about doing a post on the books I read, maybe like a combined book review. So if this sounds like something you'd be interested in then just shout up.

Being as I'm home from University for the summer, I've been looking for some work. I'm back at my old saturday job at the Wedding Dress Boutique thats in the village and thats exciting. We're talking about me possibly doing some work with the seamstress which would be great. I'd learn so much and the experience would be amazing. So fingers crossed that goes well. I'm also currently making some samples for this new children's wear boutique thats opened in the village. I've been making these adorable little dresses and bibs. I have really throughly enjoyed it.

The thing is, I love blogging I love the community, I enjoy taking photos and editing, writing up the blog posts.. I just seem to be really struggling at the moment with what I want to blog about and I really don't want to be putting out content that I wouldn't read myself or that I'm not proud off. So thats why I didn't schedule posts for when I was away, I just needed a little break from it I guess. But I'm back now, with some ideas so stick with me and keep your eyes peeled for new posts. Also I read all my comments so please do comment below if you have a blog that you want me too have a look at or if you've been struggling with ideas for new content? It would be good to know I'm not alone in this.

Lots of Love; Em x
